  • Charcoal production accounts for 15 – 20% of the wood supply in Uganda and is mainly
    consumed in urban areas
  • Improvements in the charcoal subsector must address all stages in the chain of charcoal production, transportation, marketing and utilization

In Uganda two categories of economically feasible kilns
are recommended:
- The “Kasisira” kiln
- The Bus kiln
